Beauty Monday - Primark makeup review + GIVEAWAY!

Primark make up. The one question on everyones lips, is it any good? Yes. Yes, it is. In my local store, they have quite a selection but I thought that I would only test a few items and then giveaway a few products to a lucky reader. The price range is mainly £1, with a few exceptions for eyeshadow palettes.

I decided to pick up the Volumising mascara, the black felt eye liner pen, a bright pink lipstick, a mint green nail polish and a matte top coat polish.

Volumising mascara and Black felt eye liner pen

First up is the black felt eye liner pen. I was very surprised by this pen. It is super easy to use and I managed to get even black flicks in a matter of minutes. The nib is longer than I have ever used before, but I feel that it helped with getting a more precise flick point and it was easier to get in the inner corner of my eye. I put eyeshadow over the top to keep it in place all day, and it was still there at the end of the day. The only worry I have about the pen is how long it will take for it to dry up. I have used cheaper liquid liner pens in the past but they have dried up after a few weeks, so we will see how long this lasts.

The volumising mascara was good and bad. I do love wearing this mascara when I want a more natural look in the day, but I wouldn't say it is extremely volumising like it claims. That is the downfall for me. I read volumising and thought that I would have big volumised lashes, but they end up looking more my-lashes-but-better volumised. The good points are that it doesn't crumble off, the bristle brush grabs every lash and it is a strong black colour. For £1, this is a mascara I would keep buying for everyday natural lashes and stick to my other mascaras for 'night out', big lashes.
Let's hope Primark brings out a waterproof version and different colours soon!

Lipstick

Top lip - Natural / Bottom lip - Lipstick
This lipstick was the most disappointing product I purchased from the lot and I am really upset that I bought one for the giveaway. Let's just hope my one was a dud. The actual consistency is creamy and the colour is nice, even though I was expecting a brighter pink. I was just really upset that the bullet broke whilst I was applying it the very first time. I now have the use a lip brush to apply it. It's not drying like other cheap lipsticks and it does last for 3+ hours, which is a lot longer than other cheap lip products. Overall, I am still intrigued by these lipsticks, so I might go back and buy other colours and hope that they don't break!

Nail polish and Matte top coat

Two Coats
Two coats with Matte
Finally, I purchased a mint green nail polish and a matte top coat. I am a huge fan of matte nail polishes so I was really happy with the topcoat as it turns any polish into a matte effect on the nail. So a big thumbs up for the topcoat. The mint green polish also worked really well. It lasted 4 days on my toes before I accidentally chipped it. I only had to apply two coats and a top coat for it to last that long. It dries fast and the formula went on easily with the big brush. An all round winner for £1!

I can't wait to try more from the collection as I was really pleased with most of the products. The only downfall for the collection are that none of the products have names for each colour, and some have limited colour selections.

Giveaway

Now, time for the giveaway!
I am giving away a lipstick, a mascara, a nail polish and gel effect top coat. I am also throwing in a Ted Baker metal tin so that the products travel in style to your home.
This giveaway is a sorry for not blogging for so long and because my blog turned 1 in April, when I wasn't really blogging properly!
A quick disclaimer, I purchased all these giveaway products and I am not being sponsered/paid by Primark.
Unfortunately, this is a UK only give-away, as I can't afford to ship to other countries. All you have to do is fill in the competition form below for your chances of winning these amazing prizes.
Good luck!
